Week Five: RSS and Feed Readers

WOW! I have never even heard of RSS and Feed Readers, I thought I was pretty up to date on computer stuff, but just goes to show, I'm not lol! Still not quite sure what all it is good for, but like everything else, I will continue to explore and go from there.
After I did a little exploring of all of the different Feed Readers to try, I chose bloglines.com. I watched all the videos, and read all the written intructions, and to me it seemed like the most commonly used, and the easiest to use. I subscribed to a couple of feeds, one being StephenieMeyer.com, because I check her site regularly for updates and I figured this would save me some time, and I would also know when her site was updated. The other feed I chose was "Children & Libraries: The Journal of the Association for Library Service to Children. I subscribed to it because I thought it could provide some interesting information for programming and what not that I do at work.
To get a little more experience in this RSS stuff, I went ahead and did the third activity as well. This took a little more time for me to figure out. But, it worked so I must have done something right lol. I think I might go ahead and enter in my personal e-mail and subscribe to my blog, just to make sure it works lol. Hopefully it will help people to access any updates easier and quicker.
I know I am a long way from figuring this weeks activity out, but I think for the most part I get the basics. So until next week...bye!
